Dr. Georg Bastian of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Germany is pursuing collaboration with the Mindanao Renewable Energy R&D Center (MREC). He conducted a lecture on thermoelectrics and solar concentration and visited the concentrated solar power (CSP) laboratory.
MREC is a collaborative R&D program on renewable energy, established by the Ateneo de Davao University and the Department of Science and Technology. It is hosted at and chaired by the Ateneo de Davao University, through its Center for Renewable Energy and Appropriate Technologies.
MREC has running research projects on concentrated solar power, marine/ocean renewable energy, solar community desalination, renewable energy resource assessments, biomass and gasification, systems integration of renewable energy, and productive uses of renewable energy.
