AdDU and DOST Partner for Mindanao Renewable Energy Center

The Mindanao Renewable Energy R&D Center (MREC) was launched last April 11, 2019 at the 8th floor of the Community Center of the First Companions, Ateneo de Davao University.

The Mindanao Renewable Energy R&D Center is housed at the Ateneo de Davao University.

MREC is a niched research and development center for emerging renewable energy harvesting technologies, particularly concentrated solar power (CSP) and ocean renewable energy (ORE). It is under DOST’s Niche Centers in the Regions for R&D (NICER) program.

Key officers from DOST and AdDU attended the MREC launch last April 11.

The event was attended by key personnel from DOST-PCIEERD, officers from DOST XI led by Regional Director Dr. Tony Sales, administrators and faculty members of the Ateneo de Davao University led by University President Fr. Joel Tabora SJ, and CREATE-MREC researchers.
