Program Educational Objectives

Ateneo de Davao University Civil Engineering graduates will:

  1. Excel in the corresponding technical competencies expected for the following fields of specialization:
    • Structural Engineering
    • Geotechnical Engineering
    • Transportation Engineering
    • Water Resources Engineering
    • Construnction and Management
    • Highway Engineering
  2. Seek new knowledge by engaging in industry-relevant research using updated and appropriate technology
  3. Engage in efforts towards personal and professional growth in the context of life-long learning.
  4. Exhibit discerning leadership marked by clear communication and effective collaboration.
  5. Live out Filipino and Christian values by the ethical practice of their professional expertise in the pursuit of the common good.

Program Outcomes

By the time of graduation, the students of the BSCE program shall have the ability to:

  1. apply knowledge of mathematics and science to solve complex civil engineering problems
  2. design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  3. design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints, in accordance with standards
  4. function in multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams
  5. identify, formulate, and solve complex civil engineering problems
  6. understand professional and ethical responsibility
  7. communicate effectively civil engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large
  8. understand the impact of civil engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
  9. recognize the need for, and engage in life-long learning
  10. know contemporary issues
  11. use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for civil engineering practice
  12. know and understand engineering and management principles as a member and leader of a team in a multidisciplinary environment
  13. understand at least one specialized field of civil engineering practice
