The Chemical Engineering Department held its 1st Undergraduate Research Colloquium on November 25, 2019 at the Training Room, 8th floor, Community Center of the First Companions, Ateneo de Davao University.
The CHE Research Colloquium provides a venue for CHE research teams to present their studies to a community engaged in science, technology, and engineering. It aims to encourage undergraduate Chemical Engineering students to engage in meaningful, quality research, as well as to build a strong research ecosystem that promotes critical thinking, creativity and integrity in the Chemical Engineering Department.
There were 15 student research teams guided by their advisers Engr. Ruth Barluado, Engr. Decien Dee De Cagalitan, Dr. Tender Ferolin, Dr. Albert Jubilo, Engr. Eva Marie Mendoza, and Engr. Albert Mardione Mozo, and supervised by their research course professor and CHE Department Chair Engr. Leah De Castro.
A panel of judges, composed of SEA Asst. Dean Dr. Renyl Barroca, former SEA Asst. Dean Engr. Jenith Banluta, ITSO Director Engr. Jason Occidental, CHE-Batallones Research Assistance Committee Member Engr. Edu Daryl Maceren, and CHE professor Engr. Ruben Salvador, selected the top 3 presenting teams.
The top 3 teams are Ermily Frances Derecho and Zedric Jairal (adviser: Engr. Mendoza), Seve Kenneth Europa and Lawrence Igar (adviser: Dr. Ferolin), and Eunice Dimple Parazo and Princess Shyne Pena (adviser: Engr. Mozo).
The CHE Department congratulates its student researchers and faculty advisers for their hard work, perseverance and determination that led them to the completion of their studies.
