The Ateneo de Davao University – School of Engineering and Architecture conducted an academic and research visit to Taiwan from 3 to 5 August 2026, represented by Engr. Edu Daryl C. Maceren, PhD.

The visit brought together academic and industry perspectives through discussions with Prof. Chun-Yao Lee of the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) and Dr. Le Truong An of Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU). Discussions focused on expanding international research collaboration, graduate education opportunities, and the development of a proposed multi-institutional project on AI-based motor fault diagnosis.

The proposed collaboration brings together the research capabilities of Ateneo de Davao University and Prof. Lee’s research laboratory, with opportunities to involve LAD-Training and Certification Inc. (LAD-TCI) as an industry partner. The collaboration also explores joint research, graduate student supervision, scholarship opportunities, international publications, and the potential development of technologies for industry applications.

The delegation also visited NTUST and participated in academic and fellowship activities with faculty, researchers, and graduate students. These engagements provided opportunities to strengthen professional relationships, exchange research perspectives, and explore directions for continued academic cooperation.
The visit further strengthened Ateneo de Davao University’s international research network while opening opportunities for graduate education, research collaboration, industry engagement, and innovation.
